Rodan Builder was awarded the contract to upgrade the data centers at both Civic Center and Public Safety Buildings for the City of Berkeley. This is a time sensitive and extremely critical project for the city of Berkeley, and adding to the pressure, these server rooms control the entire City of Berkeley’s infrastructure including the Fire and Police Department.
The main scope of work is to remove the replace the existing Emerson CRAH and CRAC units, which involves removing the windows and installing new louvers to bring in the required air flow to cool the data rooms. New UPS battery backup systems are also being installed at both sites, allowing up to 30 minutes of power during an outage. The city will be getting all new servers, server racks, cabinets and hardware to bring them to the forefront of the new digital world.
